Responding to the growing use of audio, the CS-428 has built in microphone and speaker support. Because of its multiconsole design, the CS-428 cannot be daisy chained to another CS428; Instead, the CS-138A serves as the daisy chain unit. Up to eight CS-138As can be chained to the CS-428, for a total of up to 64 connected computers.
