Responding to the growing use of audio, the CS228 has built in microphone and speaker support. Because of its multiconsole design, the CS228 cannot be daisy chained to another CS228; Instead, the CS138A serves as the cascading unit. Up to eight CS138As (using 2L1603P/2L1603P/2L1605P as the cascading cable) can be chained to the CS228, for a total of up to 64 connected computers.
